I’m an optometrist in private practice in Park River and Grafton, North Dakota and a graduate of the Pacific University College of Optometry. In June 2011, I’ll become the American Optometric Association’s first female president. As part of my responsibilities, I’ve committed to visiting with students and faculty at all 19 schools and colleges of optometry in the United States, as well as at Optometry’s Meeting. That’s 20 destinations in 20 months. My 20/20 Tour began in October 2010 at my alma mater, Pacific University College of Optometry.

Dori,
I had the privileged of meeting you this weekend. I am a Western University College of Optometry student and am very excited for you to come and visit our school. We have a great group of students who want to be involved and are willing to help you, the AOA and the profession in any way possible. Thank you for your time and support.

Dori,
SUNY is waiting for you!
Hi Dori,
When will you be visiting us in Ft. Lauderdale?
Joe
The weekend of January 21, 2011. It was a choice between spending a January weekend in North Dakota or Florida. I picked Florida!
Hi Dori
Just wondering when you will be visiting the New England College of Optometry
Thanks!
Bridget
Hi Bridget! I’ll be visiting sometime in the next school year. I’ve booked everything now until May. We’ll keep in touch.
Greetings Dr. Carlson,
I hope your tour is going well. I would like to know if you would consider visiting colleges within the City University of New York (CUNY). I am in the process of starting a Pre-Optometry club at Brooklyn College. I believe that prospective Optometry students will benefit from information you can offer about the field that will allow us to shape the future of Optometry.
Best,
Eric Tam
